Respiratory
Protection (1/2 Day)
(Available through private contract)
Any worker who uses respiratory protection (either for lead or solvent exposures)
must be trained in accordance with the requirements of the OSHA Respiratory
Protection Standard.
Course topics
include:
- Why respiratory protection is necessary
- How improper fit, usage, or maintenance can compromise the effectiveness
of a respirator
- Capabilities and limitations of respirators
- How to inspect, put on and remove, use, and check the seals of a respirator
- How to recognize medical signs and symptoms that may limit or prevent the
effective use of a respirator
- Requirements of the OSHA Respiratory Protection Standard
