Coatings Inspection Instrument Workshop (1 day)
(Available as an open-registration
course or through private contract)
I want you to verify that the surface preparation and coating application procedures are being performed according to the specification. Here is a set of inspection gages Just how comfortable are you with the proper calibration and use of surface preparation and coating application inspection equipment and SSPC visual guides? Are you up-to-date with the latest specification requirements for surface cleanliness, including chloride detection and adhesion testing techniques? What happens if you use the instruments, kits or visual guides improperly? What are the consequences if you do not properly verify the accuracy of the gages before use? If any of these issues cause you concern, then this Workshop is for you!
KTA offers a one-day how to workshop that focuses on using coatings inspection instruments. Designed for facility owners, engineers, industrial painting contractors, coating manufacturers, inspectors and others, the workshop details the proper procedures for using instruments and visual standards for verifying the quality of surface preparation and coating application work, as well as kits for sampling and testing for surface soluble salts, and kits for testing the adhesion of coatings. The workshop is based on the KTA publication, Using Coatings Inspection Instruments, 2nd Edition by W.D. Corbett. Written on a basic level, the fully illustrated, soft bound publication describing the step-by-step use of over 40 coatings inspection gages, SSPC visual standards, and test kits for detecting soluble salts and measuring adhesion. The publication also includes guided notes, a glossary, and an index of industry standards. Using Coatings Inspection Instruments, 2nd Edition, is included with the Workshop fee!
This
is a hands-on workshop. Brief instruction and demonstration are followed
by organized workshops, where participants work with the equipment in small groups,
and document the results. No where else in the industry can you get focused,
hands-on training on such a wide variety of inspection equipment.
