SSPC C.3 Supervisor/Competent Person Training for Deleading of Industrial Structures
(Available as an open-registration course or through private contract)

KTA is a licensed provider of the four-day SSPC C.3 course. The course focuses on the competent person and supervisor who are responsible for the protection of workers, the public and the environment, while completing lead paint removal projects in a cost-effective manner. This course was initially developed for compliance with EPA Title X requirements for 32-hour training. While Title X requirements for industrial steel structures are not yet in effect, many states have adopted the requirement in advance of the Title X release, and many facility owners require C.3 training prior to starting work.

The C.3 course meets the following requirements:

• The requirements of OSHA's Lead in Construction Standard (29 CFR 1926.62) and the December 1993 Compliance Directive
• The requirements for a certified supervisor derived from the EPA proposed rule on certification and training (Title X)
• Authority and responsibility of a competent person under SSPC's Painting Contractor Certification Program (QP2)
• Eligibility for state certification in Virginia

The C.3 Course includes a comprehensive student manual, daily hands-on workshops, examinations and an SSPC-issued Certificate. The C.3 course carries 3.2 CEUs (Continuing Education Units). Optional State Certification is also available at a cost of $25.00 per state, per student. Available state is Virginia.

KTA is also a licensed provider of the one-day SSPC C.5 refresher course.
