Emergency Response Services

KTA can quickly mobilize a large staff of trained and experienced inspectors to provide monitoring and documentation services for a wide range of construction and clean-up related activities. Personnel assigned to these tasks are accustomed to working under difficult environmental conditions, traveling to remote locations, working from vehicles, and living in hotels for extended periods of time.

KTA also provides a wide range of specialized consulting and engineering services including indoor air quality/mold inspections, lead paint and asbestos inspections, structural moisture assessments, soil and water contaminates analysis, corrosion mitigation engineering services, weld/NDT inspections, and water tank safety assessments.

In 2003, KTA provided monitoring and documentation services as a sub-contractor to FEMA during the Hurricane Isabel clean-up effort in the Richmond, Virginia area. KTA personnel were primarily involved in monitoring numerous FEMA-employed contractors’ clean-up efforts, documenting the quantity of loads as well as types of hurricane-related debris in each load. KTA quickly mobilized a large staff of inspectors who worked 10-hour shifts, seven days a week, for many months.

Recently, as part of an emergency structural integrity situation, KTA responded to a large, national retailer who had concerns regarding critical welds in thousands of facilities across the country. Within a 48 hour (over the weekend) period, KTA quickly mobilized dozens of Certified Weld Inspectors (CWI) to hundreds of facilities in numerous states to inspect and document the details in question.

KTA routinely responds virtually overnight to maintenance or emergency outages; mobilizing inspectors to various challenging working environments, such as power generating facilities, petro-chemical processing plants and terminals, pipelines, and water storage and waste treatment facilities, among others. KTA employs hundreds of inspectors and has immediate access to hundreds more.

KTA Certified Industrial Hygienists, Certified Safety Professionals, Industrial Hygiene Technicians, and Building Enclosure Specialists can investigate residential and commercial buildings for industrial hygiene and structure-related problems such as indoor air quality, mold and mildew, lead paint and asbestos exposures, trapped moisture and leaks, contaminated soil and water, and other causes of health hazards or concerns.

KTA’s emergency response support services are coordinated from the Corporate Headquarters. For more information, please contact Mr. Eric Kline at 800.245.6379, extension 206, or via email at ekline@kta.com, or cell phone (412.608.2204).
