In
recent years, no single challenge confronted the coatings industry more
than the complex dilemma of proper management of hazardous (lead) paint
removal from industrial structures. The heightened concern of lead poisoning
in children, potential threats to air, soils, and water, excessive worker
exposures during removal, and management of resulting waste streams all
impact facility owners, painting contractors, paint manufacturers, and
coatings and engineering consultants to one degree or another.
KTA-Tator, Inc. responded early on to this evolving industry concern by developing in-house expertise in environmental monitoring, detection of lead on steel structures, laboratory analytical support, and new technologies to minimize worker exposures and environmental emissions during lead paint removal.

Staff resources were expanded to include engineers, safety professionals, and industrial hygienists. |
