Additional programs are available through our health insurance provider. Employees who participate in our health insurance and the wellness activities are rewarded with a company funded health spending account.
KTA offers insurance protection from Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield. Employees are eligible the first day of the month following full-time hire and coverage is available for employee only, employee and child(ren), couple, and family. KTA pays a minimum of 50% of the premium.
Employees agreeing to participate in the annual “Wellness Commitment” receive a company funded deductible in the form of a Health Spending Account of anywhere between $500 and $1,000 dependent on date of enrollment and participation level. To qualify for the spending account each year, you must participate in the wellness program the prior year.
Employees are eligible for Delta Dental Insurance the first day of the month following 90 days of full-time service. Coverage is available for employees only and family. KTA pays 50% of the premium.
KTA offers Vision Care insurance on the first of the month following date of hire. Coverage is available for employee only, employee and one dependent (child, spouse or domestic partner), and family. This is a voluntary benefit and 100% employee paid.
KTA provides OneAmerica, accidental death, long and short-term disability insurance to all employees after they have completed 60 days of full-time service. Employees are automatically enrolled in these programs. KTA pays 100% of the total premium. The value of the life insurance policy is two times your base annual salary. Coverage is available for employees only.
KTA offers OneAmerica supplemental group life insurance to employees and their families. The employee is responsible for the entire cost of this benefit. The rates for this benefit vary based on age and amount of coverage.
KTA offers UnumProvident Accident insurance to employees and their families. Open enrollment is offered annually. Accident insurance provides benefits for a wide range of covered injuries and accident-related expenses beyond health insurance. These may include emergency room visits, hospitalization, physical therapy, hospital intensive care, transportation, lodging, and more.
KTA offers UnumProvident Individual Short Term Disability insurance to employees. Open enrollment is offered annually. This insurance pays the employee a percentage of gross monthly salary should they become ill or injured due to a covered disability. Employees can choose monthly benefit amounts from $200 to 75% of their current income (up to a maximum of $5,000). These benefits are flexible but some state restrictions do apply.
This benefit allows employees to contribute a set amount from their paychecks in order to cover dependent care expenses and/or out-of-pocket medical, dental, and vision expenses such as health insurance and prescription copays. The funds are deducted through regular, equal payroll deduction and money is deposited into a flexible savings/spending account that is exempt from federal, state, and payroll taxes.
The company has an established 401(k) profit-sharing program to assist in our employees’ retirement savings. Employees must be employed by the company for one year and must have worked 1,000 hours during that year to be eligible to participate. Employees can invest up to 15 percent of their base pay into the program; KTA will match up to the first 2 percent invested by the employee. KTA, at its discretion, can make additional profit-sharing disbursements to this plan for the benefit of eligible employees. A wide portfolio of investment options are made available through our plan advisor.
The company provides an accrual system for paid time off (vacation, sick, and personal time combined). New employees are eligible to use PTO days after completing six months or 960 hours of continuous service. As a new full-time/seasonal employee, you are eligible for up to 12 PTO days in your first year of employment and a maximum of 26 days after 15 calendar years.
Full-time employees are eligible for time off, with pay, on the following scheduled holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday following Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
After completing 5 and 10 years of full-time service, KTA pays more towards employee health insurance benefits. After 10 years of full-time service, employees are given the option of free dental or vision premiums. In addition, employees are provided awards after completing 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 years of service with the company. All employees with 5 or more years of service are recognized on plaques in the entrance of the Corporate Office in Pittsburgh, PA.
KTA has an established Employee Recognition Committee (ERC) that meets regularly to review internal and external nominations for exceeding customer satisfaction and going above and beyond the call of duty (ABCD). Awards are presented at specific milestones based on approved nominations, monthly $100 and annual grand prize drawings are held, and employees are recognized in the company newsletter, The Inside Edition.
KTA’s EAP is a confidential, worksite-based program designed to assist both employees and employers to provide assessment and referral for personal problems. The programs offered includes counseling and education for a variety of issues including but not limited to marital and family issues, stress, crisis, alcohol and drug problems, smoking cessation, child care need options, eldercare referrals, financial planning, money management, and pet care referrals.
